The British free-to-air music channels Clubland and NOW ROCK have started trial broadcasting on the new Astra 2G satellite. Broadcasting continues in the strong European beam. Thus, reception is possible even in Central Europe with small satellite dishes (from about 60 cm).
Video clips of the TV stations Clubland and NOW ROCK appeared in test slots on the frequency of 11.082 GHz. The broadcast is provided free of charge in SD resolution, this time in the MPEG-4 codec (H.264), while the regular broadcast is still offered to viewers in the outdated MPEG-2 codec.
The Clubland channel is broadcast on the position with the previous name 50352, and NOW ROCK can be found on the slot called 50355. The slot names will change after the transition to regular broadcasting, and at the same time the distribution according to the old parameters will cease. Clubland is a TV station for fans of dance music (dance, techno), while NOW ROCK is for fans of rock music.
