Where to Find Benedictus, First Herald of Utopia

You'll encounter Benedictus in The Excavatio during your progress through Chapter 4. The arena is located at Path of Exile 2 Currency the checkpoint for The Precursor Forge.

The exact location varies slightly due to Path of Exile 2's map layouts, but you'll generally find the boss on the edge of the map. In most cases, it appears in the northeast corner. You'll know you're close when you enter a narrow hallway leading into a chamber-like building-the arena where the fight begins.

Expect to face level 52 monsters while clearing toward the boss. When you arrive, a short dialogue scene will play out. Benedictus wastes no time showing off his mobility, diving toward you with a teleport strike that signals the start of the encounter.

Benedictus' Attacks in Path of Exile 2

The First Herald of Utopia has a diverse moveset that combines lightning and fire abilities with environmental hazards. While there's no strict rotation, many attacks have visible wind-up animations, giving you time to react. The main exception is the lightning whip, which comes out quickly and requires instant dodging.

Teleport Dive - Closes the gap quickly, dealing splash lightning damage.
Rock Throw - Conjures a boulder and hurls it at you.
Lightning Whip - Snaps a whip of lightning toward the player. At half health, this evolves into a laser whip.
AOE Rock Slam - Creates a delayed circle around you that erupts, slamming rocks from below.
Lightning Land Mines - Summons crackling rocks that explode if you move too close.
Meteor Smash - Calls down a meteor directly aimed at your location.
Cone Boulder Attack - Throws a boulder that explodes in a wide cone.
Maze Mechanic - Conjures two large stone walls, forcing you to navigate out through glowing weak points.
Phase Two Maze (Under 50% HP) - Teleports repeatedly, then creates four walls instead of two. You must follow glowing paths through the rocks to avoid a deadly lightning blast.
